Luck doesn't count

Was clearing the Google reader queue this weekend. There were two items that deserve a mention. A video from Chris Brogan, about being lucky, and another by Jonathan fields, about entrepreneurs.

Both topics were different, but I couldn’t help noticing the similarity in the thoughts. Chris brogan talked about his ‘overnight success’, as perceived by some people he meets; the effort he puts in, the sacrifices he made to be where he is.

Jonathan Fields wrote about the fanaticism that is entrepreneurship; why one decides to be an entrepreneur, and how much of that ‘rosy future’ is true.

Both say the same thing, in different ways. If you really want to do something, go ahead- but be prepared to slog it out. Nothing comes easy- or free.

Chris Brogan ends his video with “Where are you spending your time? … What are you not sacrificing that I am sacrificing to get there?”

Good enough questions. But just answering them, without trying to practice them- wouldn’t be enough.
