When it comes to solving problems, we can easily do it if we aren't involved.
'Only if you could put in a little bit more effort", "just get up early", "reduce the daily commute and it'll be fine" and so on.
But when it comes to us, we simply drop dead in our tracks.
We can't put in more effort because we have other things to take care of.
We can't get up early because we are burnt out at the end of the day, and we need that sleep.
When it comes to others, we don't make up reasons for them, and the solutions seems easy enough.
But when it comes to us - it's difficult to see beyond the veil of excuses.
