Appreciating the effort

I'm hooked to this new game, Cut the rope.

It's simple, actually. You have to cut the rope tied to a candy and make sure the candy falls in the mouth of an ungrateful monster.

Don't get me wrong, it is cute and nice, but it makes that sad little cute face when you fail to get the candy for it.

No matter how hard I try, I fail most of the time, and the monster makes the same old sad face.

And I feel that my efforts aren't being appreciated at all.

You know the feeling: you pull out 3 all-nighters in a row to finish the project on time, and the bossman forgets to include whatever you've worked on in his final presentation. And mentions "it wasn't good enough to go in my presentation" with a sad face to everyone within earshot when you ask about it.

Ungrateful monsters. Why can't they say something like "It didn't go on as we hoped, but you did a good job" instead of the usual "You did good, yes, but it wasn't good enough"? Why put all the blame on my head? do you think I'll work with the same intensity again? (I would, just to prove the sonofabitch wrong, but they don't know that).
