The art of being happy

I have been in a bad state, mentally, almost all the week.

Had trouble getting up in the mornings, had no will to go to work.

Don't know why, the situation is entirely different today.

The stress I was exerting on myself isn't there anymore.

What happened?

Trying to live up to the image I have of a perfect day, I believe.

I forced myself to get up and do what I had to do, even though I didn't want to.

Within no time, I found myself humming a tune under my breath while completing the chores.

This difference of perception and reality causes plenty of problems.

We see something - or someone - and then compare the conditions with ours.

More often than not, we don't like what we see in our own backyard.

Lo and behold, sadness lurks in. At least in my case.

Trying to do something towards achieving  that - or stopping these insensible comparisons - are the only 2 ways out of it.

This quote puts a part of it across rather succinctly.
